Demonstration on Google Mapping during workshop |
Introduction
I am currently following training on Web 2.0 at the
University of Mauritius. This course is organised by the CTA. The course runs
over 5 days starting from the 23 July
2012 and ending on the 27 July 2012.
So
far we have covered three days of training under the instructions of Mr
S.Sembhoo, Mr K Boodhoo and Miss N.Hosenally.
I
discovered some new application tools such as Google Docs, Wikis and Twitter and how to use them.
Teaching Methods
The
teaching methods used were very good with a short but direct theory session of each tool and this was followed with hands on
practical work on our computer.
In other terms at the end of the session we could use the tool on our own and
it is up to us now to develop ourselves further.
I
also learned about the use of meta cards during the course of a training. This
will help us to improve our training that we run in our organisation.
What
I have liked so far is that firstly I was introduced to new tools, secondly the
pace at which the training and last not least the PATIENCE shown by the
trainers to make sure we could grasp everything. The class atmosphere was
pleasant despite the load of things to learn in such a small period of time.
Usefulness
The
training is not only useful in our work but is also very useful in our daily
social life as technology keeps pushing ahead.
Everyone in the agricultural sector should be trained in Web 2.0 tools in Mauritius. We are so close (in terms of the geographical distance) yet we are so far apart in terms of effective collaboration
Web
2.0 tools will help me to carry out searches much more quickly and efficiently,
to communicate more rapidly, to share information and to be more at pace with
new developments coming up.
Dear all, we have completed the 5 days training. It was a hectic week for me , but also a very fruitful one . I feel revitalise.
To sum up i feel having better tools in my hands to do my work better, to be more efficient in our duties and in terms of professional development this training push us one step ahead
